A wonderful river which was declared as a basin of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve 12 years ago. Its exuberance, the abundant and varied flora and fauna, and above all, the easy access, have made of Yanayacu Pucate basin the most visited by the tourists that want to visit Pacaya Samiria.
The Ranger Station is located 60km from Nauta. This is the place where tourists and the tour operators must present the required documentation to be able to enter the National Reserve. We can start a trip to the Yanayacu Pucate basin from Iquitos at 9am and after 1.5hrs of car ride, we will get to the city of Nauta from where we will board our boat and begin the journey. After 3hrs traveling up the Marañón River, we get the 1rst Control Point.

Along the Yanayacu River 4 Ranger Staions can be found and also some Community Control Stations. There are four communities located within this área. They belong to the Cocama Cocamilla indigenous group. Ost of the population populations are engaged in fishing and agriculture, depending on the season of the year.
The permission from the Central Office of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, allows us to reach the Cocha El Dorado, that is the last of Sation of the basin.
In order to reach this place we must take a journey not less than 6 days and 5 nights. During the trip to cocha El Dorado we will be able to enjoy the impressive presence of wild animals.
